How to Cancel a Layby
If a customer has an open layby and decides they would like to cancel it to receive a refund, then you can do so by following the steps below.

To open the layby screen click ‘Layby’ and type in your pin number

Once you open the layby screen, you will need to search for the layby sale number in the ‘Rec #’ field.
After finding the sale you’re looking for, click on it to highlight it in green, which will then open the sale on the screen behind the pop-up.
Once the sale is open, click the red ‘Close’ button to close the search window.Â
When you open the layby sale there will be a button along the bottom called ‘Cancel Layby’.
Once pressed, the word ‘Return’ will appear on all items in the layby and the payment button will change to red and say ‘Refund to Customer’.Â
Click ‘Return’ on the styles the customer no longer wishes to put on layby. Once selected, they will appear below in red.
After you select a style to return, you will notice that the ‘Refund to Customer’ button will populate with the refund total.
This will be the amount that the customer has paid toward the layby which can be found just above that button where it says ‘Paid.Â
To issue the refund or credit back to the customer, click on the ‘Refund to Customer’ button.
Once pressed this will open the same pop up window that appears when processing a return.
From here you can choose to put the stock back into inventory, note a reason for cancellation and choose from a credit or refund.Â
If a layby cancellation fee is required then you can add it to the sale before you process the refund. Click the ‘Extra’ button down the bottom of the screen to open up your selection of extras (these can be added in the settings)

Once the cancellation fee is added it will appear underneath the items on the layby and it will take deduct the fee from the refund total.
In this instance the Layby fee is $50 but the customer and they had paid $200 towards the layby so they will receive a refund of $150.
