How to apply a Shopify integrated gift voucher to a sale

Enterprise POS allows you to apply a gift voucher on a sale

Shopify doesn’t pass us the Shopify GV # because it is protected and similar to a credit card number.

Therefore we create a new code for the gift card that shares the same last 4 digits as the Shopify version in Indigo8.
Eg.
Shopify GV number = RH7Q 3PH7 GHXH D8YY
I8 GV number = SGC5509-D8YY

They voucher in I8 will be attached to the customer profile (if there is a customer attached in Shopify). I8 uses the email address to validate the matching customer.

Below are the steps how you can search and apply a gift voucher in the POS.

Step-by-step guide

To find the voucher code for specific customer, login to Shopify and search with customer name.

Here is an example of one of a gift card in Shopify.

Check the current balance for the specific voucher code. The voucher code only shows last 4 letters.

Paying by Shopify Gift Voucher on POS

Open the Indigo8 POS and login the account.
Click 'Cust Credit & Voucher'

Click 'Seach for Existing Voucher / Credit Note' once the screen below pops up.

In the POS Gift Voucher and Credits search screen, enter the last 4 digits of the Gift Card code, Gift cards that originated in Shopify will begin with ‘SGC'

Write down the number or select the voucher so it goes green then click Copy Code at the bottom of the screen.

Open a new sale, when processing the payment you'll need to enter the full Gif Voucher gift card number eg. SGC-1234-H9H8 and then you can apply it to the sale.

If the voucher was originated in the POS the code will begin with CR and can be searched on the ‘Cust Credit’ Section.

You can also view the vouchers that are assigned to customers in Indigo8 by searching their name in the Contacts field and matching the contact to the email that has been used in Shopify,

then viewing the Vouchers & Credits Tab. This screen will also display the SO# the voucher has been used against.
