Bin Management

Bin Management

The Bin Management screen allows you to set rules for the following:

  • Pick order - The route through the warehouse

  • Bin type - If the bin has a special purpose for example replenishment

  • Rank - Which bins will be allocated for picking first

  • Section - The area in the warehouse where the stock is found

From this screen you will also be able to review your warehouse usage and check the date that a bin location was last counted.

Setting the rules and reviewing this screen will help you to increase efficiency, maintain your inventory and ensure that space is being used effectively.

Bin Management - How this impacts the warehouse

The key fields are:

  • Bin = The name of the bin

  • Order = The pick sequence, lower numbers will be picked first. If the order is the same for a selection of bin locations the pick will be sorted by the bin names.

  • Type = This will look at the types that have been set up in maintenance, it is where you can identify a bin as Replenishment or Not for picking.

  • Section = This looks at the sections set up in maintenance and it allows you to group bins together to speed up your picking when assigning orders.

  • Rank = This determines the priority that bins are allocated to orders. A bin with rank 1 will be selected before a bin with rank 9. This is typically used to prioritise bins at the best height for picking.

  • Size = The size of the bin

  • Capacity = How much the bin can hold

  • Used = How much space is taken up in the bin

  • Avail = How much space is left

  • Last count = The date that the bin was last counted
