Assigning Barcodes to Styles in Enterprise
This article explains how to assign a unique barcode to a style. Different sizes and colours of a given style will have different barcodes.
Before Assigning Barcodes:
Before barcodes can be assigned you will need to purchase unique GS1 barcodes for your company
Once the unique GS1 barcodes have been purchased please contact us via email to let us know the following information:
Company Prefix Number
Start Batch Number
End Batch Number
Once we have the above information we will then enter the barcodes into the system for you.
It’s important that your styles have a size range and 1 or more colours applied to them before you can assign barcodes. Refer to the Using List View to Enter Product Information for more information.
Assigning Barcodes to Styles:
Open Product Search screen and search for the relevant style or line.
Once you have searched for your style or line, select the tick box next to all styles that you wish to assign a barcode to.
After selecting all styles, click on Report in the bottom left corner and it will open as a new window. Click on Barcode located on the left side of the window and then select ‘Assign GS1 Codes to Products’.
Once you select ‘Assign GS1 Codes to Products’ another screen will appear, ensure that you read the information on the pop up and once done you can then select ‘Assign Code Now’.
Once you select ‘Assign Code Now’ the system will then apply codes to all styles you have selected. It will also confirm the number of barcodes used and let you know if any styles already had barcodes assigned to them. See the example below.
To check that you have successfully assigned barcodes to all styles you can go back to the Product Search screen, tick all styles and then right click on any style. Once you right click, a menu will open and you will need to select Barcodes from this menu.
Once Barcodes is selected a new window will open and you will be able to see that all the barcodes have been applied under the GS1 Code column.
