Refunding Shopify orders from POS

  1. Turning on the Setting


This step will need to be completed for EACH POS login.

OTHERS tab -> Turn on Shopify refunds and select ‘Online Returns Instore’ in the dropdown- > SAVE

Once the settings are enabled, the refunds process for online orders will be the same until you reach the reach the Refund Screen.
-‘Online Returns Instore’ will be default for web order refunds.

-There is a new orange button called REFUND IN SHOPIFY -Click the orange button to refund straight to Shopify

  • When the REFUND TO SHOPIFY button is used, there will be a loading popup

  • A successfully refunded order will show the success message for 2 secs then automatically close

  • The next screen will be the email receipt, and once that is closed, the sale is complete. The customer will receive a Shopify notification for their refund.

ERRORS

  • There may be occasions where you will get an error, so you can hit the RETRY button

  • If a retry continues to get an error, press CANCEL TRANSACTION and refund via the payment terminal, or select ‘REFUND IN SHOPIFY’ as the refund type and manually process for the head office team to process the refund directly in Shopify.



END OF DAY

  • All web refunds will still appear on end of day as an ONLINE RETURN INSTORE payment type. This may need to be reviewed with your accounting team as it will be recorded as a payment type.
