Setting your default warehouse

Setting your default warehouse

Indigo8 allows you to control which styles are available for sale and which locations are included in your inventory sync with Shopify.

The default warehouse is the location where your stock will be synced to if you are using combined inventory settings.

This warehouse must be the same in both Indigo8 and in Shopify.

Setting the default

The default warehouse for fulfilment is controlled by your location settings in Shopify. This will be your primary fulfilment and inventory location.

Each location has a location id which you can see here when the location is selected.

Other settings to consider here are:

Inventory sync - This determines the locations which are included when syncing inventory to Shopify from Indigo8. The default warehouse must be included here and it must have the location id set.

Changing your default warehouse

There may be times where you wish to change the default warehouse that you have setup, for example you may be switching your main fulfilment warehouse to another physical location.

When doing this the suggested process is:

Change the location name and address in Shopify - This can be done in your location settings. Please note that the location id here will not change.

Default location id in Indigo8 - There will be no change here as we will still link to your default in Shopify.

Inventory Sync - The warehouse set in your inventory sync setting must be changed.

Remove the warehouse that will no longer be your primary location and make note of the location id as this will enable stock syncing to Shopify.

Add the new warehouse by selecting it from your list and add the location id to this warehouse.

It is essential that this location id matches as the inventory from the new warehouse will overwrite the existing Shopify stock when the 2AM inventory sync runs.

Default customer warehouse - This must be changed so that newly created orders and any unable to fulfill orders are handled correctly

Default Returns warehouse - It is important to change this warehouse so your returns continue to be created correctly.
