Integrating Shopify Custom Data

You can utilise your Indigo8 product data to enrich Shopify Custom data Product/Variant Metafields.

How to Setup

Your metafields are set up in Shopify first, so you will use the Shopify settings as a reference to connect to Indigo8.

  • Open the Web Product Data popup → Go to Tag and Metafield Settings

  • Select the product field would want to connect in the Product Data column

  • Select the Data Type (Product or Variant)

  • Select On

  • Enter the name space and key
    name space = any text left of the full stop
    key = any text right of the full stop

  • Select the Content Type in the dropdown
    Indigo8 currently integrates with the below content types
    - Single Line Text
    - Multi Line text
    - Color
    - Single Line Text (List)
    - Decimal
    - Integer
    - Rich Text (note for rich text, Shopify doesn’t support Alignment or Underline, so we do not send that formatting to Shopify)

  • Save

Sending metafield data to Shopify

  • Select the styles in Website Updater → Click Export to Shopify → Update Shopify Native metafields → Export Selected Styles

Viewing metafield data in Shopify

  • Product data type
    Open the product page in Shopify admin → Scroll to bototm of page

  • Variant data type
    Open the variant page in Shopify admin → Scroll to bottom of page
