How to Enter Shopify Web Data

Before you export your products to Shopify you first need to enter the product web data into. Follow the below steps to do this.

 

  1. Go to the Product Search screen

     

  2. Search for your line in the line search field or particular style in the style search field

     

  3. To enter the web data for a product click on the Web button next to style image. This will be green if the style has been added to the Website Updater already and red if it hasn’t.

     

  4. Once the Web button is selected a pop up window will appear

     

  5. In the Web Product Data tab you can see all the fields you will need to enter before exporting to Shopify.

     

  • The top section shows Style Number, Style Name, Product Weight and then the RRP & Sale Price depending on the Trading Entity selected from the drop down

     

  • Just below that is where the product images can be added per colour. This can be done by opening the image file location and simply dragging the image file across to section labelled ‘Drag Selling Images Here’. Once the image has been successfully imported it will appear under the colour name.

    To add the images for the next colour, simply click on the colour name and follow the above drag and drop process.


    IMPORTANT: The product images must be 1MB otherwise they will not be successfully inserted. If they are over 1MB then you will need to resize it before dragging across.

  • The next section is the Web Site Description. This is where you can enter the product description exactly as you want it to appear on Shopify

  • The section beside that is for the product tags. This is where you can enter your tags by either typing them in one by one and pressing enter OR by copy and pasting from a spreadsheet and separating them by comma. e.g. Top, Blue, Singlet, Basic

     

  • The last section is the Search Engine Listing Preview. This is where you can customise how you want the product to appear in search engines like Google.


    This is how it will appear on Shopify


    If you would prefer to let Shopify generate the Product Search Engine Listing then you can simply leave this section blank and Shopify will populate this for you.

  • Once you’re done entering all the Web Product Data hit Save and you can then export the products to Shopify.
